Process Work

Some ideas going along with the concept of "funneling" and "wrapping" and showing the process of the plastic bottles through recylcing and making the pieces we are using for the canopy. We have tried to analyze where the "thresholds" occur in the site and how these might become opportunities for something to happen.

We were thinking in some way to continue the materiality and form of the canopy into the rest of the site and incorporate it more so it became engaged and holds on to the landscape in a similar way that we are thinking with the wood materials for the stage, canopy and benches. This can become a piece of artwork and "image" of the front of the stage that kids could participate in designing, and also become a type of interactive "tunnel" that kids could play in, and then the same material would continue to wrap and also become a recycling bin. So essentially the idea would be that you would "contribute" to recycling by putting your bottles in the recyling bin that wraps and becomes a "habitable tunnel" that shows the process work, and then comes out of a funnel again to become the resulting canopy made out of recycled plastic.
