Site Analysis

Site Location : Jaycee Park, 403 College Avenue, Clemson, SC

The Site is located in a public park in downtown Clemson and is currently occupied by a small playground, picnic tables, and a small stage for performances, with a creek running through the middle of the very topographic site.

Access to Site


Vehicular traffic has access to the site from College Avenue, and by parking in the nearby Astro Theater parking lot and entering from the north. There is also a visual connection to the site from Edgewood Avenue. Pedestrian traffic includes access from College Avenue, Edgewood Avenue, the Astro Theater parking lot, and from the adjacent Abernathy Park and boardwalk to the lake access.

Natural Site Features


The features of the site include the small creek that runs through the middle of the site, as well as some older shade trees and some recently planted trees.

Areas of Program


The current uses of the site include the playground, the stage for performances, access to the Astro Theater, ans access to the Duke Energy Stage.

Shade Currently Provided on Site


There is currently some shade provided on the site, but mainly in the playground area, so one of our goals is to provide shade to the stage area as well.
